Description Massimiliano Adamo 2007-07-03 12:19:56 UTC
euses command does not work with packages coming from an overlay.
I hope I am not missing anithing and it's not my fault :)
I have installed xeffects overlay, and I have gtk+ from xeffects. That version has an USE flag called "macmenu".
If I run: "emerge -vp x11-libs/gtk+" I get this USE flag
If I run: "equery hasuse macmenu" it works as well

it seems that my /usr/local/layman/xeffects/profiles/use.local.desc is ignored.

I am not sure if it depends on eupdatedb ... anyway, I have run it twice: first time I have put "source /usr/local/layman/make.conf"
second time I have put "PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/layman/xeffects"

If I run "euses macmenu" I get nothing .....

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. layman -a xeffects
2. euses macmenu

Wow. I found this bug by chance...

I tried to reproduce this, but layman says there is no xeffects overlay. Does anyone know of another overlay that declares local use flags?
Comment 4 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-11-23 04:15:01 UTC
I updated the man page in 2.5.7 to explain in more detail how to use euses to display USE flag descriptions from overlays.
