Description Davide Cendron (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-03 07:42:21 UTC
Hi, i've seen that metadoc.xml contains the references of two documents not listed in Documentation Listing (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/list.xml):

<file id="research_manifest">/proj/en/desktop/research/manifest.xml</file><file id="research_manifest">/proj/en/desktop/research/manifest.xml</file>

and

<file id="x_maintaining">/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/maintaining.xml</file><file id="x_maintaining">/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/maintaining.xml</file>

These two documents are part of "desktop_project" category:

    <doc id="research_manifest">
      <memberof>desktop_project</memberof>
      <fileid>research_manifest</fileid>
    </doc>
    <doc id="x_maintaining">
      <memberof>desktop_project</memberof>
      <fileid>x_maintaining</fileid>
    </doc>

but this category doesn't appear in the <categories> element.

Are there any reason to avoid their listing in main Documentation page, or is this only a mistake?

I went ahead and removed those doc listings entirely, as the docs are both not terribly useful, and one is 4 years old and outdated. They don't have much purpose even if they were to show up in the generated page.

Fixed in CVS, thanks for reporting.
