Disk will not mount the root fs in the boot sequence. It tries twice to mount /dev/hda and fails. Drops to prompt asking for / or if you want to boot to a shell (busybox). I tried all the kernel parameters listed at the boot prompt, nothing helps. 2006.1 *does* work... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Get a blue g3 2.Put in the 2007.0 disk for ppc32 3.Boot holding down the "c" key. Actual Results: Couldn't mount /dev/hda, and therefore bombed-out early in the boot sequence Expected Results: Expected it to boot!
Did you verify your burn? What type of media did you use? I recall my G3 iMac having issues with CD-RW media, but it was fine with CD-R.
Can you try this with 2008.0 Beta 1?
Yes, the burn was verified. No, I am sorry, I cannot try the 2008 disk, as I no longer have this computer at my disposal :(
No problem. Since we don't have access to the hardware, I'm going to resolve this as NEEDINFO and if someone else comes along with a similar issue and the hardware, we can REOPEN this bug. Thanks for taking the time to respond and help me get our release bug count down.
