Description Michael Hanselmann (hansmi) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-01 18:55:57 UTC
rsync1.ch.gentoo.org is refusing connections since weeks. Since it's the last remaining server in rsync.ch.g.o, can we have some from Germany, Austria, France or Italy?

rsync: failed to connect to 62.2.16.4: Connection refused (111)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(104) [receiver=2.6.9]

Sorry, it's rsync2.ch.gentoo.org

Christian,

Any update on this? We're unable to connect to the server.

Mail from gentoo-mirrors@lists.gentoo.org:

Hello

Because i'm leaving my current working place "rsync2.ch.gentoo.org"
will be terminated on the 20. Jun. (hasta la vista, baby)

Please remove the entry from the DNS and do whatever is needed
to exclude this server from the great family of gentoo servers.

I'm killing the Service on the 20., so it would be good to
remove the entries a day before because of TTLs.

Thanks alot
Christian

Christian,

My bad, didn't notice earlier. Apologies.

Thanks a lot for running the mirror when you were there.

Good Luck!

Michael, you can use rsync.de.gentoo.org, it is one of our biggest rotations.

I know that and I've been doing it for quite some time now. However, I guess some users still have rsync.ch.g.o in their make.conf files. Thanks for aliasing it to rsync.europe.g.o.

Sure, not a problem, you're welcome.
