I noticed, that there has not yet been an ebuild for the useful tool netdate, so I made one. I just took the sources from netdate-1.2-333.src.rpm (part of SuSE 8.1) and edited the included patch. (Changed ${DESTDIR} to ${D} to get the correct install target) There are some missing parts in the ebuild, as I for example do not know a real SRC_URI (had to extract it from a rpm!) or HOMEPAGE or whatever. You'll also have to find a suiting category;-) That's pretty much it, works fine here:-) I'll include the ebuild and the patch...
Created attachment 9907 [details] netdate-1.2.tar.bz2 The sources... taken from SuSE 8.1 netdate-1.2-333.src.rpm
Created attachment 9908 [details, diff] netdate-1.2.dif also taken from SuSE 8.1 netdate-1.2-333.src.rpm
Created attachment 9909 [details] netdate-1.2.ebuild and the ebuild :-)
Created attachment 10229 [details] Another netdate.ebuild I just tried to make my own netdate ebuild. Then I found this one in bugzilla and decided to add my ebuild, because it has the real source-URL and no patch. Don't know, what the patch does, maybe a programmer could look on it.
Your ebuild works fine, too, but has no man-page with it. Could you include it? :)
I'm sorry but we have to have an official URL to the source of the package. If you can find one, then I can add this package.
I'm really sorry, but I'm afraid, we won't be able to find a "valid" URL for this. Netdate is about 18 years(!!) old, the man page says: "4th Berkeley Distribution". In the netdate.spec from the SuSE-rpm there is the URL http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/system/network/sunacm/Other/netdate but this dir is empty as well. What to do?
It's been imported.
