I haven't gone thru all of them bug i.e. win32 tells me howto build libpcap using Visual Studio on Windows which I'm not.. intrested :-)

I agree that removing installation instruction is a good idea and propose the following change (also gentoo does not run on aix hpux and tru64 so we do not need this readmes too):

-       dodoc CREDITS CHANGES FILES README* VERSION
+       # We are not installing README.{Win32,aix,hpux,tru64} (bug 183057)
+       dodoc CREDITS CHANGES FILES VERSION TODO README{,.dag,.linux,.macosx,.septel}

But what other devs in netmon think about this?

This change does not worth revision bump - fix in CVS in 0.9.6.
