The version of quake4-demo available in the tree is fairly old at 1.0 - the latest version for Linux is 1.4.2, corresponding to the current patch level of the full game. A bump would be nice; as the graphically most demanding game currently available for the platform, it's somewhat interesting for testing purposes at least. Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 123304 [details] quake4-demo-1.4.2.ebuild well... a bump would be wrong, it a new demo. Just Multiplayer, NO singleplayer, like in the first demo. You can try it anyway, but I think it would be nicer to create quake4-mp-demo or something like that, a simple bump would be the worst.
yes, simple rename the file to: quake4-mp-demo and it should work (i also uploaded the install file to my mirror, so sonic-lux.net/... is ready for this file) Stephan
games-fps/quake4-* are masked due to security problems. # Chris Gianelloni <wolf31o2@gentoo.org> (3 Mar 2008) # Masking due to security bug #194607 and security bug #204067 What would the policy be for a new quake4-mp-demo package ?
