Description Isaac ‘Will It Work’ Dansicker 2007-06-22 03:06:57 UTC
Both ruby-1.8.5_p2-r1 and ruby-1.8.6_p36-r2 fail during install with the error:

./instruby.rb:254:in `read': file too big for single read (IOError)

It seems the actual compile process is successful, but does not copy the files correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge ruby USE="ipv6 threads tk -debug -doc -examples -rubytests -socks5"
2.
3.

Actual Results:
installing binary commands
installing command scripts

Reopen if you can reproduce with *sane* C[XX]FLAGS; such as CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer", especially without this one:

man gcc:
-m128bit-long-double

...

Warning: if you override the default value for your target ABI, the structures and arrays containing "long double" variables will change their size as well as function calling convention for function taking "long double" will be
modified. Hence they will not be binary compatible with arrays or structures in code compiled without that switch.
