I installed gentoo linux 1.0 rc6 and compiled kde-2. Then i upgraded the system to 1.1a and emerged kde-3. Now i cant seem to remove kde2 or libpng1.0.12. Let me give you some output. ls /var/db/pkg/kde-base/: arts-1.0.0 kdeaddons-3.0 kdeartwork-3.0 kdeedu-3.0 kdegraphics-2.2.2 kdelibs-3.0-r1 kdenetwork-2.2.2 kdepim-3.0 kdeutils-2.2.2 kde-3.0 kdeadmin-2.2.2 kdebase-2.2.2-r1 kdegames-2.2.2 kdegraphics-3.0 kdemultimedia-2.2.2 kdenetwork-3.0 kdetoys-2.2.2 kdeutils-3.0 kdeaddons-2.2.2-r1 kdeadmin-3.0 kdebase-3.0-r1 kdegames-3.0 kdelibs-2.2.2-r2 kdemultimedia-3.0 kdepim-2.2.2 kdetoys-3.0 As you can se kde-2.2.2 is installed. But if i do fks. an emerge -u kdebase/kdegames-2.2.2 it complains that it isnt installed. emerge -s kde tells me that only kde3 is installed. This problem does that when i emerge fks. kemerge it finds and links with wrong headerfiles from libpng-1.0.12 and not from libpng-1.2.x with i have installed. emerge -s libpng tells me that libpng-1.2.x is installed and only that version. I have contacted one of the developers on irc (seemant@openprojects) , but we could not find anything we did wrong. Maby someone can help :)
