Description Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-16 13:04:52 UTC
it's unmaintained and upstream renamed it to vanilla-dmz-(aa-)xcursors which is already in portage

wouldn't a package move be a good idea then? I just synced and tried to update "my world". I found jimmac-xcursors being masked. This could lead to confusion on user side, could it?
Comment 6 Tiago Marques 2007-07-08 17:34:24 UTC
I sure was also confused.
package move please?
Comment 7 Tristan Heaven (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-08 18:59:56 UTC
Doing a package move would also lead to confusion because it would break existing configurations.
Comment 8 Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-08 19:14:26 UTC
here's a different solution to the confusion: add a note to the package.mask comment that it's replaced, users will still need to read it, but at least they don't have to look into this bug
