I have added 216.176.132.235 to the access list for rsync1.us.gentoo.org. Please update your rsync cron jobs to sync against this server every :00 and :30. Once you've done so, please let us know by posting to this bug and we'll monitor the server for a couple days before adding it into the main rotation. Thanks
Just checking to see if the cron jobs have been updated yet.
I had replied to two emails from different people regarding this ticket but those emails do not appear to have reached the bug report so I'll comment manually. The cronjobs have been in place for quite some time now. Our mirroring server syncs its time with our local time server every 4 hours, which is synced against the time servers located at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. However, since time seems to be critical with the syncing of the portage tree, we would be happy to have sync our mirroring server's time against a time server preferred by the Gentoo team. Thanks.
We've been working on some DNS issues, so I wanted to let you know we're monitoring the server now.
Thanks for the update. Let me know if you have any problems. --Josh Snyder
216.176.132.235 is now rsync15.us.gentoo.org. As soon as DNS catches up, you should start seeing some traffic. I've subscribed <joshadmin@netnitco.net> to our gentoo-mirrors mailing list (low volume). This list is used to discuss mirror-related issues. Thanks for supporting Gentoo.
