Description Jouni Rinne 2007-06-09 17:43:55 UTC
Amarok-1.4.6_pre20070608 is too unstable for normal use, please hard mask it.

For example, it doesn't update the collection properly (even when forced to do it), when files are added. And it crashed when I tried to add an album cover from Amazon.com.

Earlier versions are fine.

I'm having just the opposite experience with Amarok-1.4.6_pre20070608.

It's much more stable then previous versions and I have no problems when rescanning my collection and adding album covers. Using kde-3.5.7.

I have to confirm I can't find any problem with Amarok, sounds more solid than 1.4.5 to me, haven't been able to crash it yet. The 1.4.6 codebase is mostly bugfixes so it's hard that new bugs got added.

Please provide more specific information (like a backtrace) and your emerge --info.
Comment 3 Mike Lothian 2007-06-11 17:43:22 UTC
I can confirm some strange behaviour when letting Amarok organise my music into folders I notice it doesn't

On further investigation I notice that it's trying to create /boot/home which it doesn't have any rights to do so

Hope this helps
