Description Davide Cendron (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-06 21:02:58 UTC
Hi, doc/en/quick-samba-howto.xml needs some fix/update:

- it still refers to net-print/hpijs: it would be better to replace this item with net-prin/hplip

- in the "USE flags" table regarding samba, there are "mysql", "xml" and "libclamav" but these flags were removed since 3.0.23 version (and actual stable version of Samba is 3.0.24): it would be safe to insert a warn about it

- CUPS PS Drivers 6.0 are released ( see http://www.cups.org/windows/articles.php?L376 : there's a comment reminder about updating it when the new version is released, so now it's time do do it :) )

Fixed in CVS.

Note: the actual HP Deskjet 930C driver is still called "hpijs", that is according to the linuxprinting.org driver website, so that is the only occurance of hpijs I didn't change to hplip.

Note: Changing the PS Driver 6.0 section is marked as RESO CANTFIX. The problem is that that package version has a completely different means of setup/building from source. Our directions are fundamentally not compatible with the latest version, but no one knows what we should change them to. And since the old version has been removed, that's why I had to mirror the tarball in my devspace.

You misread that comment, it was not a reminder for when a new version is released; we've known about the issue for a long time.

Again, that will have to remain as RESO CANTFIX until someone can create a successful, working procedure for 6.0.
