Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Follow alsa guide
2. try: amixer set Master 100 unmute
3.

Actual Results:  
ALSA lib simple.c:944:(simple_add1) helem (MIXER, 'IEC958 Playback
Switch',0,0,0) appears twice or more
amixer: Mixer load error: default 

Expected Results:  
setting alsa volume.

using snd-ali5451 module

Was using alsa-driver-0.9.0-rc6
Doh...
Found a answer on the alsa-maillist:
try 0.9.0rc7.  this should have been fixed.

Worked for me ...

0.9.2 is stable
