Description Frederic Soulier 2003-03-24 15:18:16 UTC
Trying to emerge kdeutils-3.1.1 by doing "emerge -u kdeutils" I get the
following in the console:

bla bla bla .libs/libarkpart.so
make[3]: *** [libarkpart.la] Error 139
make[3]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/portage/kdeutils-3.1.1/work/kdeutils-3.1.1/ark
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/portage/kdeutils-3.1.1/work/kdeutils-3.1.1/ark'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/portage/kdeutils-3.1.1/work/kdeutils-3.1.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2

!!! ERROR: kde-base/kdeutils-3.1.1 failed
!!! Function kde_src_compile, line 116, Exitcode 2
!!! died running emake, kde_src_compile: make

... and my box is dead! I can see all that stuff on the screen but I cannot
Ctrl-Alt-Bkspc, I cannot open a new terminal window or anything. The only way
out is to reset the box.
I've tried twice and it failed on the same thing with my machine frozen both times.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge -u kdeutils
2.
3.

Actual Results:
I can see the error msg in the terminal but the box is frozen and I need to
reset it.

Expected Results:
Correct emerge of kdeutils-3.1.1

can you paste the full compilation error please?
Comment 2 Frederic Soulier 2003-04-15 09:05:40 UTC
Well, you may well want to close this bug as I have deleted my Gentoo installation... and since nobody else reported a similar pbm it may have been a pbm with my setup.
Sorry for that.
