After doing an update to the newest baselayout (1.8.6.4-r1) I keep on getting the following error whenever runscript.sh or depcache is run: "line 58: For: command not found". I checked for syntax errors and I also checked my config files... no luck. I cannot figure this out. What's also quite strange is that my group definitions gotlost during the upgrade... by group definitions I mean: the "what user belongs to which group" stuff... I already talked to guys on IRC - yet so far we haven't come to any conclusions yet because nobody could confirm this. Nevertheless, I am filing this bug report as a last resort...
Sorry forgot my system info. :( Portage 2.0.47-r10 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.1-r3) ================================================================= System uname: 2.5.65-bk1 i686 Pentium III (Katmai) GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/gentoo/ http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/ http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /var/qmail/control /usr/share/config /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" USE="x86 libg++ libwww pdflib spell xml2 gdbm berkdb slang readline java pam perl python aalib alsa acpi apm avi cdr crypt cups dga dvd encode flash gd gif gnome gpm gtk2 imlib ipv6 jpeg matrox mikmod mmx mozilla mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss png quicktime sdl sasl sse ssl tcpd tcltk truetype usb X xmms xv zlib -3dfx -3dnow -afs -arts -canna -cjk -directfb -dvb -esd -evo -fbcon -freewnn -ggi -gphoto2 -gps -gtk -icc -kde -ldap -lirc -motif -nas -oav -oci8 -pcmcia -pda -postgres -qt -samba -scanner -svga -voodoo3" COMPILER="gcc3" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -fforce-addr -falign-functions=4 -fprefetch-loop-arrays" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=i686 -pipe" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" MAKEOPTS="-j2" AUTOCLEAN="yes" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" FEATURES="sandbox ccache"
Oh man... before filing this bug report I double checked everything over and over again... and now I have run over a typo I made when I cleaned up all the config files modified by the upgrade... (rc.conf had a typo) Marking invalid... my mistake. I apologize. :(
