For biopython stuff I need an upcoming GenomeDiagram package, which will hopefully be soon incorporated into biopython. The package uses reportlab with one of its addons, not installed by default on Gentoo (bug #180951).

just unpack the archive and run
python setup.py install

Current version is 0.21 (2006)

GenomeDiagram is already incorporated into biopython:
http://www.biopython.org/DIST/docs/api/Bio.Graphics.GenomeDiagram-module.html

No need for a special ebuild anymore.
