Description Riyad Kalla 2003-03-24 10:07:41 UTC
I reported this problem a while back for booting Gentoo on the Dell Poweredge
series of servers (specifically the 2600 in my case) and the boot CD not
including drivers for either the:

Intel Gigabit Ethernet (e1000 driver)
LSI MPT SCSI Controller (mptlinux driver)

Both the bugs were closed as "Resolved" and with 1.4rc3 I noticed the e1000
driver is included now, but the mptlinux driver (found here:
http://support.megaraid.com/support/dlverify1.cfm?
DLFile=/support/dlcenter1/mptlinux-2.03.00-src.tar.gz&InpDrvID=126) is still
not on the live CD, so I am still unable to mount anything to continue the
install.

This driver is freely available from LSI.

NOTE: Both of these pieces of hardware are the default on the poweredge
servers if no "specialty" hardware is requested, so this might be an important
configuration to support.

Thanks for your time,
-Riyad
