the mirror ftp://archive.progeny.com, used in /usr/portage/profiles/thirdpartymirrors as a repository for gnome and debian eclasses is down and, as stated in the homepage of the project http://progeny.com/ the whole progeny project is dead (i.e. the mirror won't be back up again). it should be removed from the thirdpartymirrors list.
