When going to a password protected directory on a Windows 2000 server it does 
not ask for user name, password and goes straight to a your not authorised to 
view page error msg. 
 
 On windows 2000 server IIS v5.0 goto  
 
   website properties > directory security > anonymous access and authenication 
control > edit > anonymous access unticked and windows integrated 
authenication is enabled.. 

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open up konqueror in KDE 
2. In Location Box type url of password protected directory on iis 5.0 server 
3. Error msg appears 
Actual Results:  
Error msg - You are not authorised to view page 

Expected Results:  
Login Box with username and password - then once entered successful login 
details be presented with webpage.

Might it be that this particular server does not support plain/basic authentication? Konqueror does NOT support lanman authentication ;-)

Yep, that's what it seems like.  Please check your server and verify that it's set up for the 
correct authentication. 
 
If you would like the lanman stuff, submit a KDE bug report. :)
