The libraries for win32codecs are installed in /usr/lib32/win32. Applications (e.g.) search the codecs in /usr/lib/win32 (usr/lib is a softlink to /usr/lib64). So there should be a soft link /usr/lib64/win32 which points to /usr/lib32/win32 Reproducible: Always

The applications should be fixed to look at the right place; unfortunately you didn't name a single of them.
Isn't it correct when an application searches libraries in /usr/lib? Because Win32Codecs aren't available for 64bit, there should be a link so they can be found by 64bit-applications. I got this error with kaffeine 0.8.3. "kaffeine -w" can't find the Win32Codecs.

No, it's not OK to search for 32bit codecs in /usr/lib64 :) > I got this error with kaffeine 0.8.3. > "kaffeine -w" can't find the Win32Codecs. Which backend - xine or gstreamer?
I have both installed - how can I find out, which is used by kaffeine? equery uses kaffeine shows me that the gstreamer-useflag is set, but I can not find a (unset) xine-useflag.
