Booting a hardened kernel with gentoo=forcefsck gives the following error:

fsck 1.39 (29-May-2006)
Warning... fsck.ext3 for device /dev/hda3 exited with signal 9.
 * Filesystem couldn't be fixed :(             [ !! ]
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):

fsck.ext3 is version sys-fs/e2fsprogs-1.39-r2

Can you still reproduce this error?

I suspect this was fixed along the way awhile ago, I cannot reproduce it here. Forced e2fsck works as expected. Tested using stable baselayout-1.12.11.1, e2fsprogs-1.40.8 and unstable kernel 2.6.24-r1.

Bug appears resolved. Closing as TEST-REQUEST, re-open if you're still having the problem.
Comment 3 Jaak Ristioja 2008-05-14 11:15:40 UTC
The server this bug occured on, is running critical services at the moment. I can't test it right now, because I cannot afford any downtime to occur until June.
