So I was nastily kicked off the channel for no real reason other than I didn't believe kloeri when he agreed with what I perceived as poor behavior from eroyf. I said words to the effect that he should have handled it differently, kloeri said it wasn't him that actually typed it, that it was someone else typing on his laptop at his LUG. This is just a little far-fetched, so I said "blaming your comments on someone else doesn't help either" and Bryan said "well, I don't really care if you believe me or not tbh". So I said "that's good, because i don't :)" -- it seemed like he was hurriedly backpedalling and making an excuse, honestly. and then: 13:03 -!- nightmorph was kicked from #gentoo-dev by kloeri [fuck off] That's inexcusable. Later, he voiced someone (asphyxia) who apparently is at his LUG (maybe he was telling the truth), just so that that person could tell everyone on the channel we're all idiots. That's not particularly good thinking. kloeri, your behavior was uncalled for, unacceptable, and really, wtf? Log will be attached in a bit.
Created attachment 120728 [details] gentoo-dev-20070530.log Log of the incident.
i'm on that LUG meeting, too. i did not eyewitness the incident, but i think that it is the truth (they are actually sitting quite close). opening a bug for this is really .... crybaby stuff.
JFTR, i just talked to musikc (among other things because the discussion was carried over to both the proctors irc channel and a log mailed to our alias), we both agreed this is devrel business, so proctors will cc: themselves on the bug to see what's going on, but leave it to devrel (who it was assigned to in the first place).
(In reply to comment #2) > i'm on that LUG meeting, too. i did not eyewitness the incident, but i think > that it is the truth (they are actually sitting quite close). The LUG guy posted a picture of himself giving the camera the finger, sitting right next to Bryan, so I am inclined to think maybe he was typing on Bryan's laptop after all. Thanks for mentioning that you were there so you can vouch for the situation. Still, me being skeptical of Bryan's explanation of the event (how was I to know?) does not justify his actions in the slightest. > opening a bug for this is really .... crybaby stuff. With respect, please stay out of it if you only want to contribute peanut-gallery comments like this. The first bit about the LUG is helpful to me, it lets me know that you were there too, which I appreciate. But the rest is irrelevant. I will not be abused; I will not let someone get away with abusing me, which is why it is reported.
While everyone is entitled to their personal opinion, please keep them to yourselves when they do not further the resolution of this bug. I have spoken with amne and we've agreed that the bug is in devrel hands at this time. I will talk with nightmorph and kloeri and update the bug accordingly as appropriate.
isn't kloeri the devrel lead? Isn't that a bit of conflict of interest?
(In reply to comment #6) > isn't kloeri the devrel lead? Isn't that a bit of conflict of interest? > musikc is handling it since she's conflict resolution, and I'm comfortable with her handling it.
I'll take kloeri at his word that it wasn't him typing on his laptop when it happened. I'd just take an apology from Bryan, and then we can all move on with our work. I don't know that anything more serious is warranted.
So the person typing at kloeri's keyboard was the same person that 30 minutes later eroyf was interviewing to become a developer on the MIPS team?
(In reply to comment #9) > So the person typing at kloeri's keyboard was the same person that 30 minutes > later eroyf was interviewing to become a developer on the MIPS team? Doug, please. He and eroyf aren't relevant to this bug. Please don't make any more offtopic comments; that one should be brought up elsewhere. I don't think this bug is appropriate for it.
Though developer relations was addressing this bug, working with both parties involved, in light of kloeri's resignation there is nothing further to resolve.
I would have preferred to wait until bug 30318 is actually closed, to give him time up until the 11th hour to apologize, or at least actually talk to me. I would have thought he had spine/balls/commitment/${something} enough to do so, but as yet, he has not done so.

That's obviously not going to happen though and I have no intention to ever work with you again so this is as closed as it gets imo.
