When I tried to call to a h323: address, ekiga popped up uncountable error messages. This eventually crashed beryl or X11 and returned me to shell. Another time, it just froze X11 and wmaker, and I needed to use SAK to get back my shell. This is described here: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/ekiga-devel-list/2007-March/msg00020.html Looks like it is fixed in 2.0.8. Portage has 2.0.9 version, which appears to freeze (deadlock) by racing conditions (see bug #175396). That's bad, but it's better than crashing the whole X11. And this deadlock is not new, is also present on 2.0.7 or even 2.0.5 (see mailing list above). Suggestion: stabilize 2.0.9 Problem: this also requires stabilization of these packages: net-libs/opal-2.2.8 dev-libs/pwlib-1.10.7 >=net-nds/openldap-2.3.35
(In reply to comment #0) > Suggestion: stabilize 2.0.9 Ugh; with bugs like this one or Bug 175396, this whole thing should be package.masked, not stabilized, until they are sorted out upstream.
Still present in 2.0.11 or 2.0.11 ?
