When I try to open OO document (doesn't matter it is a writer or calc document) from smb:// (from konqueror file manager) and another instance of OO is already running, I got an error: /var/tmp/kdecache-DOMAIN\username/krun/FILENAME doesn't exist In /var/tmp I've got: kdecache-DOMAIN\username directory and kdecache-DOMAIN\\username (which is a symbolic link to above directory). When I close all OO windows and retry to open the same file - it is opened correctly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a calc document (doesn't matter from a network or local path) 2. Open konqueror 3. Opening an OO Calc document from konqueror from a smb:// path. # emerge --info Portage 2.1.2.7 (default-linux/x86/2006.1, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.5-r2, 2.6.20-gentoo-r6 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.20-gentoo-r6 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz Gentoo Base System release 1.12.9 Timestamp of tree: Tue, 29 May 2007 12:00:08 +0000 dev-java/java-config: 1.2.11-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.4.4-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.61 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.16 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.17-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/gconf /etc/php/apache1-php5/ext-active/ /etc/php/apache2-php5/ext-active/ /etc/php/cgi-php5/ext-active/ /etc/php/cli-php5/ext-active/ /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="distlocks metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.prz.rzeszow.pl/ http://gentoo.po.opole.pl ftp://mirror.icis.pcz.pl/gentoo/ " LC_ALL="pl_PL" LINGUAS="pl en" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages --filter=H_**/files/digest-*" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X alsa arts berkdb bitmap-fonts cli cracklib crypt cups dri fortran gdbm gif gpm hardened iconv ipv6 isdnlog jpeg kde libg++ midi mudflap ncurses nls nptl nptlonly opengl openmp pam pcre perl png ppds pppd python qt readline reflection samba session slang spl ssl tcpd truetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode winbind x86 xinerama xorg zlib" ALSA_CARDS="ali5451 als4000 atiixp atiixp-modem bt87x ca0106 cmipci emu10k1 emu10k1x ens1370 ens1371 es1938 es1968 fm801 hda-intel intel8x0 intel8x0m maestro3 trident usb-audio via82xx via82xx-modem ymfpci" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop empty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mulaw multi null plug rate route share shm softvol" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse evdev" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" LINGUAS="pl en" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="i810 nv nvidia vesa fbdev ati radeon fglrx" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LDFLAGS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY KDE version: 3.5.5 OpenOffice version: 2.2.0: [ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-2.2.0 USE="cups kde pam -binfilter -branding -cairo -dbus -debug -eds -firefox -gnome -gstreamer -gtk -java -ldap -mono -odk -seamonkey -sound -webdav" LINGUAS="en pl -af -ar -as_IN -be_BY -bg -bn -br -bs -ca -cs -cy -da -de -dz -el -en_GB -en_US -en_ZA -eo -es -et -fa -fi -fr -ga -gl -gu_IN -he -hi_IN -hr -hu -it -ja -km -ko -ku -lt -lv -mk -ml_IN -mr_IN -nb -ne -nl -nn -nr -ns -or_IN -pa_IN -pt -pt_BR -ru -rw -sh_YU -sk -sl -sr_CS -ss -st -sv -sw_TZ -ta_IN -te_IN -tg -th -ti_ER -tn -tr -ts -uk -ur_IN -ve -vi -xh -zh_CN -zh_TW -zu"
OO.org has notorious issues w/ non-local filesystems and locking (ditto for NFS); nothing we could/should fix. See http://qa.openoffice.org/ and file a bug there if there's not one yet (highly doubt so).
