Description R!tman 2007-05-25 09:40:20 UTC
After switching from x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.35.5 to x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.36.5, I discovered that I cannot use mplayer with the xvideo output anymore. The XVideo extension is present an the movie somehow plays, but the image is very distorted and sheered.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Works for me. Anything unusual about your setup? Xorg.0.log, xorg.conf, dmesg, emerge --info? It is unlikely this is fixable without access to the source (meaning you will probably want to report this to ati instead of here) but it is definitely impossible to debug without more information.

Should work with ati-drivers 8.37.6 (not yet in portage).

At least it solved bug #179849 for me.

Someone try with newer drivers; nothing we could do here anyway. Thanks.
