Description Thomas Matthijs (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-03-21 15:19:32 UTC
i think you should mention in the guide you need to uncomment
application/octet-stream
in
/etc/cups/mine.types and /etc/cups/mine.convs
when cups compains about it, because if you aren't familiar with cups (and i
belive this guide targets those ppl) it is kinda hard to find

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. follow the guide
2.
3.

Actual Results:
printing doesn't work, cups give error about octet-stream

Expected Results:
printing working

I just followed the printing guide doeing everything it says but i just couldn't
find where the problem was. I thought it had to be because i was doeing
something wrong because it worked perfectly with my old epson printer but it
doesn't with my new hp printer.

Finaly i found that i can to uncomment a lines in /etc/cups/mine.types and
/etc/cups/mine.convs (application/octet-stream)

Maybe this should be mentioned in the doc, or is it in there somewhere and i
missed it?

(sorry for my bad english)

This works just fine for me. what kind of printer are you using?

Again, works fine for me, and I have not heard anything else, so I am closing.
