Hi arch fellows, I just added the last release from the 1.5.1 series. Big changes from the latest stable series can be found here: http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/RelNotes-1.5.1.txt Since then, only bugfixes and documentation updates have happened in the code: http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/RelNotes-1.5.1.1.txt http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/RelNotes-1.5.1.2.txt http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/RelNotes-1.5.1.3.txt http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/RelNotes-1.5.1.4.txt http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/RelNotes-1.5.1.5.txt http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/RelNotes-1.5.1.6.txt Upstream's work has moved to 1.5.2 series (which I also added to the tree) and considers 1.5.1.6 stable. As always, remember that git comes with a very good test suite to help you in your job. - ferdy
Any (urgent) reason why this should be done now instead of waiting the usual 30 days?
The code has been there for more than a month without bugs. - ferdy
Anyway, feel free to wait 30 days. This is how we've done Git since I took over it, but I understand it if you are not happy with it. - ferdy
Stable for HPPA.
Should have read the entire bug first. Marked stable and back to ~hppa again. Thank you and see you in about a month's time.
nixnut: the 1.5.1 branch has been in Gentoo for nearly 60 days. Stabilizing 1.5.1.2 that been in the Gentoo for your 30 days would be pointless given the bugfixes that are present in 1.5.1.6. Upstream is running on a ~2 month ycle for major versions, with regular bugfixes to the previous major version.
Jeroen, please don't resolve bugs that are not assigned to you. Thanks.
(In reply to comment #7) > Jeroen, please don't resolve bugs that are not assigned to you. Thanks. I used bugsy's most elegant way of stalling a bug. As you don't seem to like that, please re-CC hppa@ when this package is due to go stable.
sparc discretionary stable - i think gooood!
