Description Christian Metzger 2007-05-18 00:10:51 UTC
starting hald using /etc/init.d/hald results in an [!!] output on startup.
Adding an --verbose=yes --daemon=no to the init script generates the shell output:

What do I do? Seems to be related to dbus policies, but I never changed any of those. I have the latest stable version of dbus installed (sys-apps/dbus-1.0.2-r2).

Which ebuild installed this?

emerge portage-utils; qfile 10-dell-rfkill-switch.fdi
Comment 6 Christian Metzger 2007-05-18 08:39:51 UTC
qfile 10-dell-rfkill-switch.fdi:

app-misc/hal-info (/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-dell-rfkill-switch.fdi)

please take also a look at the syslog output attachment above. The last lines there give a hint on a dbus related problem.
Comment 7 Christian Metzger 2007-05-18 08:47:22 UTC
I just unmerged hal-info since this belongs to hal 0.5.9xxx, which I tried once alternatively to 0.5.7.1-r5, but the dbus error message still persists.

Uh; app-misc/hal-info requires >=hal-0.5.9. Unmerge it or upgrade your hal.
