same for "Menu Editor" in the right mouse button menu of the KMenu. kmenuedit is installed (3.5.6) and kemnuedit (/usr/kde/3.5/bin/kmenuedit) works fine. I think there is some startpath confusion ... Reproducible: Always

Please add your "emerge --info". I've now tested it in KDE 3.5.7 and both ways to edit the menu work fine for me.

after a complete world rebuild the bug no longer exists. I have no idea why. The system is a newly installed one with a 2007.0 layout so it shouldn't have old/historical/outdated files/links ....
