As you can see in: http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/profiles/ , it shows the dirs that have been removed.

Robbat2 said it used to be hidden, but that now it's not. So he asked me to file a reminder bug, and here it is.

<robbat2> armin76, please file a bug as a reminder, stating that empty directories due to Attic moves should be hidden just like dead files are hidden

Ok, I looked at the viewvc source. it's not trivial, so i'm not going to undertake it. talk to upstream viewVC if you want.
