i even added "--with-qt-includes=/usr/include/qt4 --with-qt-libraries=/usr/lib/qt4"
to $myconf in the ebuild and it still can't find the QT libs. i have QT4 installed with qt3support use flag.

Comment 3 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-15 16:54:07 UTC
Clearly won't fly; it expects qt3 and not qt4...

-DEPEND=">=x11-libs/qt-3.3
+DEPEND="$(qt_min_verion 3.3)
Comment 4 Oo.et.oO 2007-05-15 17:07:43 UTC
as stated above, i built qt4 with qt3 support.

qt_min_version requires qt3. i already have qt4 installed due to other deps.

i just need configure to find the libs/headers, which it seems to be ignoring.

This won't work QT4, end of story. It's a QT3 app.
Comment 6 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-22 14:58:08 UTC
qt4 with qt3support is not the same as having qt3. It's merely there for developers to transition their applications from one version to the next. It doesn't replace qt3, though. The apps have to be specifically recoded in order to use it.
Comment 7 Oo.et.oO 2007-05-22 15:44:11 UTC
thanks all.  resolving as invalid...
Comment 8 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-22 16:06:39 UTC
The bug is valid; the dependency is broken.
Comment 9 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-31 13:34:47 UTC
locked the ebuilds to use Qt3.
