Description Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-10 20:24:57 UTC
The wording about external entities and their limited influence needs to be clarified to make it clearer what influence they can and can not have. Right now it has little meaning due to being too generic. It needs to define what is and isn't an external entity, and what "influence" means in this case.

For clarification, this is the main Foundation index page in the "Gentoo is independent" section.
Comment 2 Grant Goodyear (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-11 16:10:42 UTC
Yep. As the Foundation is a US non-profit corporation, at a minimum we need to permit complying with US and state laws. Of course, that means that we don't know what to say until we finish getting the Foundation relocated from NM.

trustees...can someone look into this? thanks

(this actually robbat2, using the bugzilla impersonate feature to test for a bug).
This comment should work. Test #2.

This bug can be closed now that the bylaws are adopted. The page needs no change as the foundation can only be influenced by its members, as the bylaws detail.
This page remains correct if it is read as an overview of the bylaws.

It should remain generic and high level as the bylaws can be changed from time to time.
