i have bash-completion installed, and in use for all user accounts. i deleted the line in the abiword-1.0.4_pre1-r1.ebuild that says: "!app-shells/bash-completion", and emerged abiword-1.0.4_pre1-r1 successfully. this is with bash-completion 20021231 so i think that the "!app-shells/bash-completion" line should be removed from the abiword ebuilds. it was added because of this bug: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7467 , but the user in that bug was using an older version of bash-completion. you give no reason why the problem should be fixed with a newer version. I know it's a minor annoyance, but i prefer this over a totally mysterious bugreport (like the one you mentioned) for now. I'll reconsider with the next abi release.
