Description Matthew Smith 2007-05-08 22:27:56 UTC
with the firefox (and presumably seamonkey, but I haven't tested this) USE flag enabled, openoffice requires at least nspr-4.6.6, but the ebuild only depends on >=dev-libs/nspr-4.6.2.

openoffice config:
checking which Mozilla flavour to use... Firefox
checking for firefox-xpcom ... Package 'NSPR' requires 'nspr >= 4.6.6' but version of NSPR is 4.6.5
configure: error: Library requirements (firefox-xpcom ) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

It is openoffice which fails, that makes it an openoffice issue.

could you elaborate, please, so the rest of us don't have to go looking for what you're talking about?

The problem here is, that the firefox-xpcom.pc lists nspr-4.6.6 as a dependency NOT OOo, so basically this should be fixed in Firefox. Raising the dependency here is wrong on our side, as this is not necessary for older Firefox versions

What?

Name: XPCOM
Description: The Mozilla Cross Platform Component Library
Version: 2.0.0.3
Requires: firefox-nspr >= 4.6.5

That's what my firefox-xpcom.pc file says.

Note that openoffice-2.2.1 has the exact same issue. If the firefox USE flag is set, then the the ebuild fails at configure.

I've raised the dependency for openoffice-2.3.0 now, so closing.
