with the firefox (and presumably seamonkey, but I haven't tested this) USE flag enabled, openoffice requires at least nspr-4.6.6, but the ebuild only depends on >=dev-libs/nspr-4.6.2. openoffice config: checking which Mozilla flavour to use... rather a firefox ebuild issue
(In reply to comment #1) > rather a firefox ebuild issue > It is openoffice which fails, that makes it an openoffice issue.
no. have a look at firefox *.pc files. then check its ebuild. ;)
(In reply to comment #3) > no. have a look at firefox *.pc files. then check its ebuild. ;) > could you elaborate, please, so the rest of us don't have to go looking for what you're talking about?

Raising the dependency here is wrong on our side, as this is not necessary for older Firefox versions Reassigning to Mozilla herd for input / comment
What? Name: XPCOM Description: The Mozilla Cross Platform Component Library Version: 2.0.0.3 Requires: firefox-nspr >= 4.6.5 That's what my firefox-xpcom.pc file says.
Note that openoffice-2.2.1 has the exact same issue. If the firefox USE flag is set, then the the ebuild fails at configure. - John
I've raised the dependency for openoffice-2.3.0 now, so closing.
