Description Serge 2007-05-08 20:40:05 UTC
see bug 177656.
Installed vmware-server-tools-1.0.3.44356 on 2.6.20-gentoo-r7
installed new kernel 2.6.20-gentoo-r8
reinstalled vmware-server-tools-1.0.3.44356 but vmxnet didn't load

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.reboot
2.
3.

Actual Results:
to resolve the probleme i ran update-modules --force and /opt/vmware/server/tools/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl

remark :
I always get the messagat boot to run update-modules -f because /etc/modules.conf has not been automatically generated

But vmware add informations to /etc/modules;cof and /etc/modprobe.conf

Could we ran this automatically ?
