x11-apps/bdftopcf-1.0.0 won't compile, since it's missing the "Xfont" package. libXfont,  libXfontcache manually installed, but that doesn't help.

Portage Version is actual stable, 2007.0

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables BDFTOPCF_CFLAGS
and BDFTOPCF_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.

Just do it; plus post emerge --info output as well.
