This weeks GWN says:

 Code listing 8.3: SYNC set to use the rsync.us.gentoo.org rotation

SYNC="rsync://rsync.us.gentoo.org"

but per bug 17701 that is wrong and causes the error reported.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.read GWN
2.follow instructions
3.

Actual Results:  
rsync doesnt work

Expected Results:  
rsync works

This is a correction to a past newsletter.  Since the newsletter has long since been 
published, I'm closing this with WONTFIX.
