same special effect here (amd64) ... but just one time! ciao
Could you attach your consolefont and keymaps config files please?

Lastly, if someone could attach a tarball of /lib/rcscripts/console if it fails all the time I'd appreciate it. If it only happens after the first reboot then I can fix that too.
Created attachment 118290 [details] /lib/rcscripts/console this from armv5te pda failes every time and then baselayout doesen't start any initscript ;-( so i cant login into this pda
Created attachment 118291 [details] /lib/rcscripts/console right tar.bz2 archive

If you erase /lib/rcscripts/console can you then boot successfully? And boot repeatedly? Also, ensure that you have etc-updated the consolefont init script.
(In reply to comment #10) > If you erase /lib/rcscripts/console can you then boot successfully? And boot > repeatedly? Also, ensure that you have etc-updated the consolefont init script. > Yes I etc-updated all configs of cource ;-) If I remove /lib/rcscripts/console there is no more gerbage in console, but system cant boot sucsessfuly :-( Baselayout even cantt try to start any initscripts :-(
Well, is there now a readable error or something about why the system cannot boot? What's the last few lines of text printed to the console?
(In reply to comment #12) > Well, is there now a readable error or something about why the system cannot > boot? > What's the last few lines of text printed to the console? > There is no readable error :-( Baselayout wont start any initscript... only init.sh starts Last lines is a login prompt ;-)
Just a presumption: try running echo 2 > /proc/sys/cpu/alignment before running baselayout2 (haven't tried it yet, so i'm not sure, that this helps).
And on arm under chroot rc-status -a doesnt work :-( hx4700 ~ # rc-status -a Usage: rc-status [options] Options: [alsuh] -a, --all -l, --list -s, --servicelist -u, --unused -h, --help hx4700 ~ # rc-status -s apmd [ stopped ] bootmisc [ stopped ] checkfs [ stopped ] checkroot [ stopped ] clock [ stopped ] consolefont [ stopped ] cpufrequtils [ stopped ] crypto-loop [ stopped ] distccd [ stopped ] hdparm [ stopped ] hostname [ stopped ] kexec [ stopped ] keymaps [ stopped ] local [ stopped ] localmount [ stopped ] modules [ stopped ] net.lo [ stopped ] net.usb0 [ stopped ] netmount [ stopped ] nscd [ stopped ] ntp-client [ stopped ] ntpd [ stopped ] numlock [ stopped ] portmap [ stopped ] rmnologin [ stopped ] rsyncd [ stopped ] sshd [ stopped ] syslog-ng [ stopped ] urandom [ stopped ]
If baselayout cannot start any init scripts then that output is correct.
Fixed in alpha3. Re-open if you disagree
