I attach a patch used in Mandriva Cooker for porting this plugin to pidgin Reproducible: Always

Created attachment 118398 [details] gaim-libnotify ebuild, using the patch above Ebuild for gaim-libnotify using the patch from Mandriva. Mostly a rename of gaim-libnotify-0.12.ebuild, applying the patch and the dependency (pidgin instead of gaim, obviously), and running eautoreconf. Works for me (TM).

(In reply to comment #2) > Works for me (TM). I honestly can't see how; unless there's some Portage code that automagically replaces pidgin with gaim, it would try to download pidgin-libnotify-0.12.tar.gz from the gentoo mirrors or sourceforge/pidgin-libnotify, and then expect the archive to contain a directory called pidgin-libnotify-0.12; the ebuild I attached https://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=120810 addresses the naming differences and works without a hitch (the patch is the same, apparently) P.S. sorry about the duplicate, I did search, but I looked for pidgin-libnotify, not gaim-libnotify; my bad...
Thank you, Sabin. Your ebuild works for me and yes, your patch and Canek's one are the same.
Created attachment 123528 [details] pidgin-libnotify-0.13.ebuild Since 2007-06-30 gaim-libnotify becomes pidgin-libnotify. It correctly builds on my amd64 box without any patch.
Its now in the tree.
