I'm not sure it's a gnome bug per se. Xorg/GDM does the same thing if you switch to console before GDM is fully displayed. You should probably contact upstream gnome folks about this.

Thanks

Reported to upstream :-)
Comment 3 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2007-05-06 09:16:25 UTC
Gnome says that seems a Xorg bug, Should I sent it to xorg upstream or wait for xorg gentoo team?

@x11,

What do you think about this bug? Thanks
Comment 7 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-07 01:23:15 UTC
Is it reproduceable using the nv driver rather than nvidia?

Yes, I will tried it also using "nv", the attached log is generated with "nv" instead of "nvidia"

Thanks
Comment 9 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2007-05-20 11:09:22 UTC
Same problem if I try to enter in xfce

Seems a gentoo problem, I cannot reproduce this under Mandriva 2007.1 and OpenSuSE 10.2

The problem persists with Xorg7.2

Thanks a lot
