The latest version in portage is 2.6, and in bugzilla 2.11. I made a 2.13 ebuild
a while ago, but it was just a quick hack based on 2.11 ebuild (bug number
12431). This new ebuild (see attachment) cleans up things a bit and also makes
use of jikes and junit. Here's the ChangeLog entry for this ebuild:

*jswat-2.14 (13 Mar 2003)

  17 Mar 2003; Jyrki Muukkonen <jyrki@kruu.org> ChangeLog, jswat-2.14.ebuild :
  - Version bump
  - Use only the needed Ant targets
  - Support for Jikes Java compiler (dev-java/jikes)
  - Support for JUnit tests (dev-java/junit)
  - Changed keywords from "*" to "x86", just to be sure

New ebuild, version bump and changed keywords to ~x86. Should work on other
java aware platforms too.

There is a 2.16 in portage, but it's still broken (doesn't use jikes, wrong ant targets etc). Looks like JUnit tests doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure what happened, but I guess this is a classpath issue. New ebuild as an attachment. ChangeLog and digest at http://www.kruu.org/jvtm/portage/dev-java/jswat/

Thanks for your input and sorry for the delay.  I took a different route and now jswat-2.1.7 is in the tree, as well as 1.7.1 for JDK 1.3.  They should work great for you... and if not, please report back with a bug report.
