Description Ingmar Vanhassel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-03 00:44:33 UTC
I'm updating from a working version of net-misc/networkmanager-0.6.4_pre20061028-r1, using KDE. I don't have any gnome dependencies installed. Networkmanager-0.6.4 compiled fine without those deps, version 0.6.5 doesn't.

compile error:
checking for GNOME_KEYRING... configure: error: Package requirements (gnome-keyring-1) were not met:

No package 'gnome-keyring-1' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GNOME_KEYRING_CFLAGS
and GNOME_KEYRING_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use KDE, without gnome deps.
2. emerge net-misc/networkmanager-0.6.5 without the gnome useflag set
3. networkmanager-0.6.5 doesn't compile.
Actual Results:
Compiling aborts

Expected Results:
Compiling networkmanager should work, regardless of the installed desktop environment.

Comment 2 Guillaume Pujol 2007-05-03 07:14:14 UTC
This is due to a missing argument in $G2CONF:

G2CONF="${G2CONF} \
    `use_with crypt gcrypt` \
    `use_with gnome` \                 <= THIS IS MISSING
    --disable-more-warnings \
    --localstatedir=/var \
    --with-distro=gentoo \
    --with-dbus-sys=/etc/dbus-1/system.d \
    --enable-notification-icon" <= THIS CAN BE REMOVED (this option has been removed in configure.in since nm-applet is in a different package)

Regards,

This should probably block #175530.
Comment 4 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-03 13:33:32 UTC
Please do not assign bugs.
Comment 5 Steev Klimaszewski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-03 18:05:09 UTC
Added the use_with gnome to the 0.6.5 ebuild, sorry about the oversight. Thanks for the report!
