After booting from the LiveCD (1.4_r3) and after selecting the keyboard layout several error messages appear with insmod not beeing able to locate the aic7xxx module and after that an endless loop of the the error message "scsi0: Spurious SCSI Interrupt" gets displayed. This happens on the ASUS P2B-S and P2B-DS motherboard (I tested both of them), while trying to activate the internal (on-board) Adaptec SCSI controller. The LiveCD 1.4RC3 is able to initialize any CD-ROM attached to the SCSI controller (and therefore mounting the LiveCD as loop device), but it is not possible to recognize the SCSI controller or any disc(s) attached to the SCSI controller. the error does not appear with the Gentoo v1.4RC2 LiveCD. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: The error is always reproducable. Actual Results: Unable to boot from LiveCD and unable to install gentoo. Expected Results: Booting from LiveCD and therefore being able to install gentoo.
please try livecd-experimental-rc4-04-10-03.iso
okay, I just tested the boot cd again (I tried the experimental live cd rc4-4-20-03). The SCSI CD-Rom still does not work. I will just comment what is displayed on the screen (at least the messages related to the SCSI stuff): SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1:00 kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2 (this above line got displayed 3 times) ... ... ---- Mounting the CD mount: Mounting /newroot/dev/cdroms/* on /newroot/mnt/cdrom failed: No such file or directory ---- CD not found umount: /newroot: Device or resource busy
fixed with latest livecd
