Description Anton Bolshakov 2007-04-26 00:56:37 UTC
Hi,

i'm trying to build dev-util/kdevelop-3.3.5 with "subversion" flag enabled.
It pools kdesdk-kioslaves-3.5.6 which fails with the follow error:

grep: /usr/lib/libdb-4.2.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libdb-4.2.la: No such file or directory
libtool: link: `/usr/lib/libdb-4.2.la' is not a valid libtool archive

I found some closed/fixed related bugs, re-emerged db but it didn't help.
The symlinks seems to be correct:
/usr/lib/libdb.so->libdb-4.3.so
/usr/include/db.h->db4.3/db.h

the relinking to 4.2 should do a trick, but let's fix the root of the problem.
I'm sure there are a lot of people using it, so sorry if it's a dup. I just can't find any bug report about it.
Thank you.

Comment 2 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-26 07:36:59 UTC
If you ask me, the root of the problem is that sys-libs/db 4.x versions are slotted.

Unmerging all 4.x versions lower than 4.3 and running revdep-rebuild afterwards should fix your problem.
Comment 3 Anton Bolshakov 2007-04-26 16:56:43 UTC
you are right. revdep-rebuild tool has found 4 packages for re-emerging.
Thank you for the hint.
The bug is closed.
