After instalation if uncomment from /etc/snort/snort.conf line
includes spyware-put.rules
Snort can not start

All other rules work

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Uncoment the snort rule for spyware-put
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
FATAL ERROR: Unable to open rules file:
/etc/snort/rules/spyware-put.rules or
/etc/snort//etc/snort/rules/spyware-put
.rules

guessing this rule got dropped from the community distribution. This may be a payed for addon service so its place here may may not be invalid.

Sorry current staffing level at gentoo does not permit a comprehensive matching of commented config file configurations and rules available.
