Description Roman Hultay 2007-04-25 17:13:30 UTC
spamassassin-1.3.8 and 1.3.8-r1 install to /

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge spamassassin
2. ls /
3. profit!!

Expected Results:
installation to proper paths

this happened since an emerge sync on 25-04-2007

This causes amavisd to not load due to not finding SpamAssassin.pm in the default @INC path

Notes
-----
I uninstalled spamassassin after trying both ebuilds to keep the volume clean, and installed spamassassin via CPAN, and voila. It works fine now.

If you would like me to do further tests, please let me know.
Comment 4 Roman Hultay 2007-04-30 15:28:51 UTC
It may be worth noting that I have not emerged anything since executing those commands requested, and I noticed PortageXS.pm and /PortageXS in /

So something else installed into root.

I'm alittle afraid of emerge sync'ing or anything at this point.

I have not modified any ebuilds, my make.conf, portage.keywords, etc are precisely the same as when the system was first setup (1.5yrs ago)

I do regular emerge sync's (bi-weekly) and update everything possible and follow it with an etc-update.

I honestly don't know how to handle this bug. I'm looking and reading thru it from time to time.. but.. no clue so far. Anyone else?
Comment 6 Yuval Yaari (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-22 22:16:36 UTC
Hope it's not too late to ask for output from `perl -V`...
Was this issue solved? It really makes no sense :-)
Comment 7 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-27 18:29:13 UTC
Apparently noone can reproduce this; feel free to reopen if you can tell us what's the problem.
Comment 8 n3ph 2010-10-08 17:46:02 UTC
Seems like perl was updated but modules not...

perl-cleaner --all should fix this issue...
