Description Kevin Funk 2007-04-24 21:00:30 UTC
Problem also stated in http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-4024776.html (german).
Issue: When unmounting a USB device in KDE (by chosing "Safely remove) I'm getting an "kio_mount_helper" error, saying that it was unable to throw out the media. Of course even KDE can't eject a usb stick :). So here's the fix (borrowed from mandriva ML).

Reproducible: Always

Anyone? This is easy to fix and it's annoying if the issue persists (new kde-base/kioslaves released yesterday without the fix).

This isn't a fix, but a workaround. Didn't look at the code yet, if it is a good idea at all.

Unless you find an existing bug report, report this problem at https://bugs.kde.org/ and crossreference the bug here, please.

Tested with 3.5.7 and an usb stick - no errors for me, guess this has been fixed upstream.

Thanks for letting us know, Psy!

Now get back to the ebuilds you should be working on! ;-)

Hm, I just upgraded kioslaves to 3.5.7 and I'm still having that problem.. :|
Anything I can do to test/debug?
Comment 7 Kevin Funk 2007-08-28 10:53:04 UTC
Can't confirm comment #6. I'm using 3.5.7 and it works.
