There in portage tree is ebuild for binary version of saxon, but it's only for XSLT2. Here is ebuild for binary saxon version 6.5.5 what's necessary to run XSLT1. I guess it would be nice to have both versions if portage tree.

Just imagine this argument applied to the whole Gentoo :) If it doesn't compile, file a bug. The only Java -bin packages in tree should be for stuff that's not open source.
