Description Bartosz Krzeszewski 2007-04-21 20:13:11 UTC
after I update ffmpeg to version 0.4.9_p20070330 and vdr-softdevice to version 0.4.0 I see only blank screen in vdr (but osd is working) and sound is broken

Reproducible: Always

Hmm,

downgrade your ffmpeg should help at first, this is a well-know problem.
There is in the moment no solution for this prob.

We will informe you in this bug, if this is fixed.
eg. in next softdevice snapshot should it be fixed.

Apr 21 22:12:23 BARTEK vdr: [25988] Bigpatch 06.03.2007 is active!

- So this is a patched vdr version. Has this patched version the ability to
deactivate/activate audio and/or video repacker functionality?
  If so, enable _both_.

- 0.4.9_p20070330 that is which SVN version ( ffmpeg | grep SVN )?

ffmpg svn Version is 8560

I am added a compile log of vdr-softdevice ( pls ignore gentoo spez part on beginning and end of file ),
compiled again plain-vanilla-vdr-1.4.6 and ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20070330
there is some crap, see more inside

I don't know what is this patch for. I don't see there any audio or video options: media-video/vdr-1.4.6 USE="bigpatch dvbplayer setup-plugin submenu subtitles -aio -child-protection -cmdsubmenu -debug -dolby-record-switch -dxr3-audio-denoise -jumpplay -lnbsharing -noepg -rotor -sourcecaps -vanilla -yaepg"

Had a look at bigpatch. There is an option to enable/disbale a/v repackers via OSD. Enabling should help.

I can also confirm that applying the patch from http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/vdr/2007-March/012476.html which Joerg asked me to try, does not work on my vdr on which I cannot currently apply the "bigpatch", and hence don't have those repacker options.
Maybe downgrading to that media-video/ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20070129 version would also work for me, but I have several packages depending on ffmpeg, and this wouldn't be fun at all. Hope the real problem gets fixed at the right place...
Comment 11 Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2007-07-19 16:00:58 UTC
Does it work with the new snapshot (vdr-softdevice-0.4.0.20070711) ?
Comment 12 Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2007-07-31 20:25:43 UTC
Now added vdr-softdevice-0.4.0.20070711-r1 with the above patch applied.
I hope this will fix this issue.
Comment 13 Bartosz Krzeszewski 2007-08-07 22:02:16 UTC
Ok, i recently changed my box to amd64 and recompiled my gentoo to 64bit. Now I have vdr-softdevice-0.4.0.20070711-r1, ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20070330 and problem still exists as in my first post.

media-video/ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20070330 USE="X a52 amr dts encode mmx network ogg sdl theora truetype v4l vorbis xvid zlib -aac (-altivec) -debug -doc -ieee1394 -imlib -oss -test -threads -x264"
media-plugins/vdr-softdevice-0.4.0.20070711-r1 USE="mmx mmxext xv -directfb -fbcon -xinerama"
media-video/vdr-1.4.6 USE="bigpatch dvbplayer setup-plugin submenu subtitles -aio -child-protection -cmdsubmenu -debug -dolby-record-switch -dxr3-audio-denoise -jumpplay -lnbsharing -noepg -rotor -sourcecaps -vanilla -yaepg"
Comment 14 Bartosz Krzeszewski 2007-08-16 00:55:34 UTC
Now after taking out some USE flags from vdr (bigpatch dvbplayer setup-plugin submenu subtitles) and reemerging ffmpeg, vdr and vdr-softdevice everything is working fine. If I'll have some free time I will check whitch USE flag was causing this bug.

# emerge -pv vdr ffmpeg vdr-softdevice

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies ... done!
[ebuild R ] media-video/vdr-1.4.6 USE="-aio -bigpatch -child-protection -cmdsubmenu -debug -dolby-record-switch -dvbplayer -dxr3-audio-denoise -jumpplay -lnbsharing -noepg -rotor -setup-plugin -sourcecaps -submenu -subtitles -vanilla -yaepg" 0 kB
